L&MR MECHANICAL NOVELTY

The L&MR MECHANICAL collection received the Winner Award in the prestigious German Design Awards 2024 and a gold award in the international MUSE Design Awards 2023 in the USA.

The L&MR collection, crafted in an Industrial style and inspired by the era of the Industrial Revolution, is dedicated to an event from 1830 – the opening of the Manchester-Liverpool railway line (abbreviated L&MR from Liverpool and Manchester Railway) in Great Britain, which marked the beginning of railway transport development, representing the pinnacle of engineering and construction thought and a symbol of progress of that time.

A new mechanism and a special Hvilina-winder key for winding it has become the hallmark of the revamped Miyota 9029 premium automatic mechanical models. The modified design of the back cover now showcases the mechanism's operation, and the rotor features stylized engraving. The overall appearance has also changed, becoming more subdued and elegant: a refreshed dial design with an added window demonstrating a part of the mechanism, the style of the indications, and a refreshed body design.

The Industrial Revolution of the 18th-19th centuries was a pivotal event in society's history and contributed to the development of industrialization. It was accompanied by urbanization, rapid economic growth, and an improved quality of life. This period of history was full of new discoveries and bold decisions that inspired us to create the L&MR collection. The concept is based on an event from 1830: the opening of the Manchester-Liverpool railway line (Liverpool and Manchester Railway) in Great Britain. This event marked the beginning of railway transport development, which became the epitome of engineering and construction thought, a symbol of progress of that time.

The side parts of the case are styled after railway tracks.

The main feature of the updated models is the new mechanism and a special Hvilina-winder key for winding.

The unusual solution proposed by our engineers and designers aims to diversify the experience of using wristwatches and to solve a number of technical challenges posed by the complex case with protruding "side rails."

The design of the Hvilina-winder key for winding has been made with reference to the aesthetics of the industrial style with a brand engraving.
The winding crown has a hexagonal shape, which corresponds to the style and overall concept of the collection.

The updated watch dial has been crafted in a more subdued, classic style and now includes a window that showcases the movement's operation. The distinctly colored mark at the 27th minute refers to an interesting historical fact: trains on the Liverpool-Manchester railway line ran at a speed of 27 km/h.

The redesigned back cover is also one of the main features of the models. The transparent central part, enclosed in a stylized gear, demonstrates the operation of the mechanism.

The collection is available in six different colors. Each model is named after one of the trains that ran on the railway: Rocket, Phoenix, Northum (from Northumbrian), Planet, Swiftsure, Lion, Novelty. The rotor of each model's mechanism features an engraving of its corresponding train, as well as the date of the railway's opening.
The watch case is made of stainless steel, water resistance - 50 m, sapphire glass, strap material - genuine leather.
