The HVILINA Star Chronicle collection is inspired by Belarusian myths and legends about the Moon and the Sun, representing our ancestors' ideas about celestial mechanics. Many of these legends are so ancient that they predate the appearance of writing. They have been preserved, passed down by word of mouth through many generations of Belarusians.
There is still little information on this topic in the public domain. The legends are scattered across many corners of our country. Many of them have unfortunately been lost. But those that have survived were helped to be gathered by the HVILINA team by Irina Klimkovich, a journalist and publicist, former employee of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, and co-author of the encyclopedic dictionary "Belarusian Mythology."
As a visual representation of the Moon and the Sun on the dial, HVILINA designers developed a stylized image of Francis Skorina's original 16th-century coat of arms. The collection is represented by men's mechanical models and women's quartz models. More detailed information about the collection and the publication of some legends can be found in the model descriptions.
The STAR CHRONICLE collection received the Winner award in the prestigious German Design Awards 2025, as well as a gold award in the international competition MUSE Design Awards 2024: Season 2 in the USA in the Fashion Design category, and a gold award in the international competition NY Product Design Awards 2025: Season 1.
