The UNIVERSUM MECHANICAL COSMOGRAPHIA collection won the Winner award in the German Design Awards 2026 competition in the Excellent Product Design – Luxury Goods category, as well as a gold award in the international MUSE Design Awards 2026 and NY Product Design Awards 2026 competitions.

The HVILINA UNIVERSUM collection is inspired by the romance of space travel and dedicated to humanity's perseverance and extraordinary ingenuity in the pursuit of truth. The design of the collection reflects a shift in the perception of the Universe – from the visions of ancient astronomers and philosophers to modern scientific and astronautical achievements, showing how much our understanding of the surrounding world has changed.

The main features of the new HVILINA UNIVERSUM PLANETARIUM collection include a Miyota Premium Automatic movement with a stylized map-shaped GMT hand, a multi-layered dial with a three-dimensional planetarium, and a new, futuristic case.

For centuries, people have gazed at the stars, striving to understand how the Universe is structured. From a vast number of myths and legends to Einstein's theory of relativity. Over 2000 years, humanity has transitioned from the flat-Earth theory and the geocentric model to the modern understanding of the Universe's structure, sent humans into space, landed on the Moon, and is beginning the conquest of Mars.

The new HVILINA UNIVERSUM PLANETARIUM collection continues to develop the concept of combining stylized star maps from different eras: from the geocentric world system to the contemporary understanding of the Universe's structure, but now in an even more complex and exciting interpretation, using three-dimensional objects for a deeper immersion into cosmic themes.

As in previous UNIVERSUM collections, the basis for reflecting ancient knowledge about the Universe's structure is a stylization of one of the earliest known star maps, dating back to the 9th century, depicting the geocentric world system. However, it is now realized as a 24-hour GMT hand, located beneath the dial and visible in a window in its upper part. The stylization is complemented by original inscriptions of zodiac constellations in Latin and capital letters separating them.

Thus, within 24 hours, one can see a complete list of constellations and designations contained in the ancient source. Functionally, the GMT disk is divided into two parts: bright – corresponds to daytime, dark – to nighttime.

In the lower part of the dial, there is a three-dimensional planetarium model, reflecting the modern vision of the Universe's structure. Stylized, spatial planets of the Solar System rise above the dial, but do not dominate it, visually appearing as if within cosmic space, immersing one in the atmosphere of cosmic harmony. The graphic representation of planetary orbits adds dynamics to the entire composition, and Saturn's rings have been highlighted as a separate graphic element. The dial is made using the guilloché technique, which gives it depth thanks to its convex structure.

Special attention has been paid to the new style of markings and hands, kept in a cosmic theme in line with the general concept: from the shapes of the hands and color palette to the styling of the marking font.

The watch uses a reliable Miyota 9075 premium automatic movement, 24 ruby jewels, 42-hour power reserve, accuracy -10/+30 seconds per day. The movement rotor is decorated with an engraving depicting dwarf planets located beyond Neptune's orbit, complementing the planetarium on the dial.

The case of the new model, designed by HVILINA engineers and designers, has been updated both technologically and stylistically. While retaining the fluid lines of previous models, it has gained a more expressive bezel with HVILINA UNIVERSUM engraving. The case back has also been completely redesigned. Case material – stainless steel.

The front and back glass are made of sapphire, with an internal anti-reflective coating on the front glass. The watch is supplied with a rubber strap with a quick-change system as standard. Water resistance – 50 m. The collection is available in 4 colors, with 500 pieces of each color to be produced.
