The L&MR MECHANICAL collection received the Winner Award in the prestigious German Design Awards 2024 competition and a gold award in the international MUSE Design Awards 2023 in the USA.
The L&MR collection, crafted in an Industrial style and inspired by the era of the Industrial Revolution, is dedicated to the event of 1830 – the opening of the Manchester-Liverpool railway line (L&MR for Liverpool and Manchester Railway) in Great Britain, which initiated the development of rail transport, a pinnacle of engineering and construction thought and a symbol of progress of those times.
A new movement, along with a special Hvilina-winder key for winding it, has become the hallmark of the renewed Miyota 9029 premium automatic mechanical models. The altered design of the case back now showcases the movement's operation, and a stylized engraving has been made on the rotor. The overall appearance has also changed, becoming more subdued and elegant: a refreshed dial design with an added window demonstrating a movement element, the style of indications, and a refreshed case design.

The Industrial Revolution of the 18th-19th centuries became a pivotal event in society's life and contributed to industrialization. It was accompanied by the urbanization of the population, rapid economic growth, and an improvement in the quality of life. This historical period was full of new discoveries and bold decisions that inspired us to create the L&MR collection. The concept is based on an event from 1830: the opening of the Manchester-Liverpool railway line (Liverpool and Manchester Railway) in Great Britain. This event initiated the development of rail transport, which became the epitome of engineering and construction thought, a symbol of the progress of those times.
The sides of the case are styled to resemble railway tracks.

The main feature of the updated models is the new movement and a special Hvilina-winder key for winding.

The unusual solution proposed by our designers and engineers aims to diversify the experience of wearing wristwatches and solve a number of technical challenges posed by the complex case with its protruding "side rails."

The design of the Hvilina-winder key was created with reference to the aesthetics of industrial style and features corporate engraving.
The winding crown has a hexagonal shape, corresponding to the style and overall concept of the collection.
The updated watch dial has been crafted in a more subdued, classic style and now includes a window that showcases the movement's operation. A distinctive colored mark at the 27-minute position refers to an interesting historical fact: trains on the Liverpool-Manchester railway line ran at a speed of 27 km/h.

The redesigned case back is also one of the main features of the models. The transparent central part, enclosed within a stylized gear, demonstrates the movement's operation.

The collection is available in six different colors. Each model is named after one of the trains that operated on the railway: Rocket, Phoenix, Northum (from Northumbrian), Planet, Swiftsure, Lion, Novelty. The rotor of each model's movement features an engraving of its corresponding train, as well as the railway's opening date.
The watch case is made of stainless steel, water resistance - 50 m, sapphire crystal, strap material - genuine leather.
