L&MR MECHANICAL PLANET

2.260,00 zł

The L&MR collection is inspired by the Industrial Revolution and is dedicated to the 1830 event: the opening of the Manchester-Liverpool Railway (L&MR, short for Liverpool and Manchester Railway) in Great Britain, which marked the beginning of the development of railway transport. It was a pinnacle of engineering and design, a symbol of progress of its time.

Over the years, the L&MR collection has won 6 international awards, including the prestigious Winner German Design Award 2024 in the Excellent Product Design – Luxury Goods category.
The collection has been featured by renowned media such as WATCHPRO, HYPEBEAST, T3.com, and Time&Tide.

The mechanical L&MR models feature a complex case with a vertically placed crown and a special Hvilina-winder key for winding the movement. The design of the refreshed models is a modern interpretation of the Art Deco style, incorporating even bolder references to the collection's concept. The watch is equipped with a premium Miyota 9029 automatic movement with 24 ruby jewels.

The Industrial Revolution in the 18th and 19th centuries was a pivotal event in society's life, leading to industrialization. It was accompanied by urbanization, rapid economic growth, and an increase in the quality of life. This historical period brought many new discoveries and bold solutions, which inspired us to create the L&MR collection.

The concept was based on an event from 1830: the opening of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway in Great Britain. This marked the beginning of railway transport development, which was the pinnacle of engineering and design achievements, a symbol of progress at that time.

The new models retain the recognizable case shape, as well as the collection's main feature: the vertical position of the crown and the special HVILINA-winder mechanism. This unusual solution adopted by our designers and constructors aims to diversify the experience of using a wristwatch, as well as to solve a number of technical challenges related to the creation of a complex case whose sides are styled as railway tracks.

At the same time, the completely refreshed design of the new dial now includes even bolder references to the collection's concept. Compositionally, the dial is divided into two parts: a guilloché outer part and a circular inner part with indicating elements. Both parts of the dial are connected by a "railway line" which serves as a minute display.

The hour markers are represented by Roman numerals alternating with applied marks in the form of decorative screws. Here, HVILINA designers adopted a deconstruction approach: the stylized screws are logically linked to the minute "railway," which imitates a real railway track fastening system.

The watch hands have also been redesigned in the Art Deco style, in line with the overall concept of the new model design.

Another unusual detail of the watch is the ornament above the 6 o'clock mark in the form of a "Beware of the trains" sign, whose design mimics the appearance of 19th-20th century railway signs of the same name installed in England. The distinctively colored sign at the 27-minute mark refers to an interesting historical fact: trains on the Liverpool-Manchester railway line ran at a speed of 27 km/h.

The back cover is made of stainless steel. A transparent sapphire glass in the central part, enclosed in a stylized gear wheel, demonstrates the movement's operation. The watch is powered by a premium Miyota 9029 automatic movement with 24 ruby jewels.

The collection is represented by four models in different colors. Each model is named after one of the trains that operated on the railway and a numerical index: Rocket 0-2-2, Northum (from Northumbrian) 0-2-2, Planet 2-2-0, and Lion 0-4-2. The rotor of each model's movement features an engraving of its corresponding train, as well as the railway's opening date.

The watch case is made of stainless steel, water resistance - 50 m, sapphire glass, strap material - genuine leather.
