The UNIVERSUM MECHANICAL COSMOGRAPHIA collection won the Winner award at the German Design Awards 2026 in the Excellent Product Design – Luxury Goods category, as well as gold awards in the international competitions MUSE Design Awards 2026 and NY Product Design Awards 2026.

The HVILINA UNIVERSUM collection is inspired by the romance of space travel and dedicated to humanity's perseverance and extraordinary ingenuity in the pursuit of truth. The collection's design reflects a shift in the perception of the Universe – from the visions of ancient astronomers and philosophers to modern scientific and space exploration achievements, showing how much our understanding of the surrounding world has changed.

The main features of the new HVILINA UNIVERSUM PLANETARIUM collection are the Miyota Premium Automatic movement with a stylized map GMT hand, a multi-level dial with a three-dimensional planetarium and a new, futuristic case.

Since ancient times, people have looked at the stars, trying to understand how the Universe is constructed. From a vast number of myths and legends to Einstein's theory of relativity. For over 2000 years, humanity has moved from the theory of a flat Earth and the geocentric model to a modern understanding of the Universe's structure, sent humans into space, landed on the Moon, and is beginning the conquest of Mars.

The new HVILINA UNIVERSUM PLANETARIUM collection continues to develop the concept of combining stylized star maps from different eras: from the geocentric system of the world to the modern understanding of the Universe's structure, but now in an even more complex and exciting interpretation using three-dimensional objects for deeper immersion in cosmic themes.

As in previous UNIVERSUM collections, the basis for reflecting ancient knowledge about the structure of the Universe is the stylization of one of the earliest known star maps, dated to the 9th century, depicting a geocentric system of the world. However, it is now realized as a 24-hour GMT hand, located beneath the dial and visible in a window in its upper part. The stylization is complemented by original Latin inscriptions of zodiac constellations and capital letters separating them.

Thus, within a day, a full list of constellations and designations contained in the ancient source can be seen. Functionally, the GMT disk is divided into two parts: bright – corresponding to daytime, dark – to nighttime.

In the lower part of the dial, there is a three-dimensional planetarium model, reflecting the modern vision of the Universe's structure. Stylized, spatial planets of the Solar System rise above the dial but do not dominate it, visually appearing as if within cosmic space, immersing one in an atmosphere of cosmic harmony. The graphic representation of the planets' orbits adds dynamism to the entire composition, and Saturn's rings are highlighted as a separate graphic element. The dial is made using guilloché technique, giving it depth with its convex structure.

Special attention has been paid to the new style of markings and hands, kept in a cosmic theme in line with the overall concept: from the shape of the hands and color palette to the typography of the markings.

The watch uses a reliable Miyota 9075 premium automatic movement, with 24 jewels, a 42-hour power reserve, and an accuracy of -10/+30 seconds per day. The movement rotor is adorned with an engraving depicting dwarf planets located beyond Neptune's orbit, complementing the planetarium on the dial.

The case of the new model, designed by HVILINA engineers and designers, has been updated both technologically and stylistically. While retaining the flowing lines of previous models, it has gained a more distinctive bezel with the HVILINA UNIVERSUM engraving. The case back has also been completely redesigned. The case material is stainless steel.

The front and back glass are made of sapphire, with an internal anti-reflective coating on the front glass. In the standard set, the watch comes with a rubber strap with a quick-change system. Water resistance – 50 m. The collection is available in 4 colors, with 500 pieces of each color produced.
